The French competition protection authority imposed a "huge" fine on Google for exploiting its leading position in the online advertising market.

The authority announced that the fine imposed on Friday would reach $ 166 million, due to the advertising service it provides to consumers "Adwords".

The authority said that the methods used by the application of "Adwords" are transparent and difficult to understand, and that the company applies them in an unequal and arbitrary manner.

The agency also ordered Google to clarify how company ads and procedures are used to suspend accounts.

This is the latest European fines against Google, which faces little competition from search engine companies in Europe.

And Google said in a statement that it will appeal the ruling.

She added that her advertising policies are designed to protect consumers "from exploitative and abusive ads".
